Aregbesola presents staff of office to Ooni

The Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has presented the staff of office to the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at exactly 13:50pm, officially marking the start of his reign as the 51st traditional ruler of Ife.

The governor called on the Oba Ogunwusi to mobilise the people for development and work with other chiefs during his reign.

He wished the monarch a peaceful and successful reign.

Isoro group usher Ooni in

Members of the Isoro cult at exactly 12:52 ushered the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, into the venue of the presentation of the staff of office amid cheering and clapping from those present.

Ogunwusi, dressed in white attire, wearing beads and a white crown, acknowledged cheers from the people with his right fist raised up and with smile.

The Sultan of Sokoto Saad Abubakar’s speech was interrupted by the cheering and drumming that ushered in the new monarch.
