Anti-corruption war: Nigeria best chance for redemption, says Mohammed

Dr. Junaid Mohammed, convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen has said all those found culpable in the ongoing corruption scandal must be brought to book.

This, he said, is necessary for Nigeria to get a fresh start and a new sense of direction. Mohammed said this in a telephone interview on Sunday.

According to him, this administration must not allow the on-going effort to fail because this is Nigeria’s best chance of redeeming its international image as well as setting the tone for future generations.

He explained that Nigerian youths especially unemployed graduates were closely watching events as they unfold.

The politician warned that our youths could resort to self help if the full weight of the law is not brought to bear on those whose actions ruined the economy.

Munster Rugby head coach Anthony Foley has died suddenly at their team hotel in Paris. Foley, 42, died overnight at the hotel, where the team were staying prior to Sunday's game against Racing 92.
